ROBIN’S BAY, St. Mary — Elder Sasheena Thompson, former Treasurer of the North-East Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, has accepted a call to serve as Director of Corporate Finance at Andrews Memorial Hospital.
The announcement was made by Pastor Glen O. Samuels, President of Jamaica Union Conference, during the Fourth Quadrennial Session of the North-East Jamaica Conference, held at Camp Don, Robin’s Bay, St. Mary, on Monday, August 10, 2026.
Addressing the delegates, Pastor Samuels revealed that Elder Thompson had accepted the call to transition from Conference administration to serve within the wider organization of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. This call, he said, was voted by the Executive Committee of the North East Jamaica Conference and was passed on to her.
Thompson served the North-East Jamaica Conference as Treasurer with distinction since August 2018, carrying responsibility for the financial administration and stewardship of the Conference and supporting its mission throughout the parishes of St. Mary and Portland.
Her appointment as Director of Corporate Finance at Andrews Memorial Hospital, effective September 1, represents a new chapter of service and provides an opportunity for her to bring her experience in financial leadership and administration to one of the Church’s key institutions in Jamaica.
The announcement also marked the conclusion of Thompson’s tenure as Treasurer of the North-East Jamaica Conference. During the Session, delegates subsequently elected Mrs. Cecile Mills-Robinson to serve as Treasurer for the new administrative period.
As Thompson transitions to her new assignment, the North-East Jamaica Conference expresses appreciation for her contribution to the work of the Church within the territory and extends best wishes and God’s continued guidance as she takes up her new responsibilities at Andrews Memorial Hospital.
